Suffering from nail fungus can be painful, irritating, embarrassing, and even debilitating if it gets severe enough. Taking care of the problem as soon as it begins is the key to not letting it get to that point. For those who are health conscious, and for those who want to avoid spending money and time on going to the doctor for nail fungus cures, there are natural cures that you can use to take care of the problem.
Using natural products may take patience and time, but the savings in money and the fact that there are no side effects make it a viable option for many people. If you are suffering from toenail fungus, fingernail fungus, or a combination of both, you can use these natural toenail fungus cures to help kill the fungus and get rid of the embarrassment of having nails that are yellow and chipping.
One thing that has proven to be successful in treating nail fungus is vinegar. Simply soak your toenails or fingernails, whichever has the fungus, in a small amount of vinegar a couple of times a day. You could also use a spray bottle to spray your nails with the vinegar. Let the vinegar sit on your nails for a few minutes, wash your nails, and dry thoroughly. If you do this twice a day, every day until your nails grow out and there is no more sign of the fungus, you will be killing the fungus. The vinegar is a disinfectant, and will kill the fungus on the nail bed.
Another good thing to use for nail fungus is tea tree oil. You can take a q-tip, dip it in the tea tree oil, and apply it to your nails a couple of times a day. Before you apply it, you should wash and dry your nails thoroughly. After applying the tea tree oil, let it sit on your nails for a few minutes, then wash off. Dry your nails.
This might sound a little funny, but one of the most effective things to use as a natural toenail fungus treatment is mouthwash. Listerine, or another antiseptic mouth wash, can be used to treat your nail fungus. Wash your nails and dry thoroughly, then either soak them in it, or spray it on them and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then, wash and dry your nails again.
You could also use a mixture of olive oil and oregano essential oil. Use two drops of oregano oil and one teaspoon olive oil. Apply to nails that have been thoroughly washed and dried. You can use this treatment daily, but not for more than three weeks at a time.
With so many ways to find a natural treatment, there is no reason not to do your best to get rid of it in a way that is healthy, inexpensive, and easy to use. Killing the fungus may mean the beginning of some beautiful, healthy looking nails.
